Week 3 Goals:

  1. Word of the Day Presentations-first 5 mins of each class, done by student
  2. Reading skills: Skim/Scan for Main Ideas; Scan for details
  3. Vocabulary de-coding:  Structure & Context skills; Acronyms and abbreviations; strong verbs in context; Academic Word List (AWL)
  4. Writing:  Going beyond the "it's about" style of summaries--ANALYSIS Summaries include answers to Q's WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW, WHY?
